Who oversees us
Aerion operates under FAA Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate AER-119A. We are independently audited annually by ARGUS International and Wyvern. Our maintenance is performed in-house by FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant mechanics with type ratings on every aircraft in our register.
Our pilots
- Minimum 3,500 flight hours total time before joining Aerion.
- Minimum 500 hours type-specific on the aircraft they fly for us.
- Recurrent simulator training every 6 months at FlightSafety International.
- Random drug & alcohol testing per FAA Part 120, plus voluntary monthly testing.
- Two-pilot cockpit on every flight in our jet and turboprop fleet, no exceptions.
Our maintenance
Each aircraft follows the manufacturer's continuous airworthiness program plus a tighter Aerion overlay: 50-hour visual inspection, 100-hour mechanical, 12-month structural, 24-month avionics. We retire airframes by hours, not by economic optimism.
When we don't fly
The Pilot in Command's authority is absolute. We do not fly when, in the captain's judgement, weather, mechanical, or human factors compromise the safety margin. Last year we cancelled or delayed 2.3% of scheduled flights for safety reasons. We rebook, refund, or arrange ground transport at no cost in every case.
Reporting concerns
If you have a safety concern after a flight, contact our Director of Safety directly at safety@aerion.co. We respond within 24 hours and review every report at our quarterly Safety Board meeting. Reports may be submitted anonymously.
Insurance
Hull and liability coverage placed through Global Aerospace and AIG, totalling $300M per occurrence. Certificate of Insurance available on request from dispatch@aerion.co.
